Yvonne Cordell Marjorie Suragdeen was born on December 2, 1957, in Belfield, St. Mary,
Jamaica, West Indies to Irene May Miller and Daniel Suragdeen. She was the fourth of seven children. Yvonne spent her formative years in Belfield where she attended Belfield All Age School, and later Continuation High School in Highgate, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies. She grew up surrounded by family, and numerous relatives.
Yvonne’s spiritual life blossomed at an early age at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, and New Testament Church
of God both in Belfield, St. Mary, Jamaica, W. I.
At the completion of high school, Yvonne left St. Mary and went to join her mother in Kingston, Jamaica, W. I. Yvonne was an extremely ambitious young lady who continued her upward academic climb: she attended secretarial college, and worked in various administrative settings, and later attended Mico Teachers’ College where she earned her diploma in early childhood education. Yvonne was hired as a public school teacher at Allman Town Primary School in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I. for a number of years.
In 1987, Yvonne married the love of her life: Glen H. Clarke, and relocated to join him in Maryland, USA.
She resided in Columbia Maryland and started a career in the printing industry at International Graphics (IG) where she worked until 2012. Following her tenure at IG, she felt the pull to start her own printing company,
and Eagle Design Printing and Promotionals Inc. was born. As CEO, Yvonne nurtured and grew her business, serving numerous clients across the metropolitan areas in Maryland/Washington D.C. including Howard University, the Barbadian Embassy, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, the Jamaican Embassy, Reid Temple A.M.E. Church, and Kingdom Fellowship A.M.E. Church to name a few.
Yvonne resided in Columbia Maryland from 1987 to 2005 and once again moved to Hagerstown Maryland where she lived until the time of her passing. Yvonne recommitted her life to the Lord while in Hagerstown and attended Gateway Church of God, and lastly: Boonsboro Worship Center under the tutelage of Pastor Jack Payne. She proclaimed publicly, and I quote: “I met a man, the man Jesus Christ and I am in love with Him.”
Yvonne loved life and had a penchant for the finer things in life. This was noticeable in the outfits she wore.
She was happy and outgoing, and this earned her innumerable friends that she maintained throughout her life.
Yvonne treated herself to her first cruise on December 2, 2024 as a birthday present. She became ill upon returning and was admitted to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, December 28, 2024. She succumbed
